Which NFC stickers work?

Blank NTAG213, NTAG215 or NTAG216 stickers. Small round 25 mm ones fit pill bottles. No tag writer is needed: PillTap pairs each sticker with your iPhone. PillTap also works fully without stickers. See our picks.

How do I log a dose without opening PillTap?

Set up a Shortcuts automation for each bottle, once. In PillTap, go to Settings → NFC Tags and pick the medication. The guide walks you through it and has a short video.

My alarms don't ring

Check Settings → Apps → PillTap → Alarms on your iPhone. When they are off, PillTap shows a "Turn alarms back on" button under Settings → Reminders that explains how. Also check that "Ring alarms on this iPhone" is on there.

Reminders are silent during Sleep or Do Not Disturb

Alarms ring through Focus. Notifications don't, unless you allow them: iPhone Settings → Focus → each Focus → Apps → add PillTap.

How do I move PillTap to a new iPhone?

Turn on Settings → iCloud & Backup → Sync with iCloud on your old iPhone, then install PillTap on the new one, signed in to the same iCloud account, and turn it on there too. Or turn on Include in iPhone backup, run an iCloud backup, and set up the new iPhone from that backup.

How do I share with a caregiver?

Go to Settings → People & Sharing and pick the person to share. Sharing needs iCloud sync and PillTap Pro (the caregiver doesn't need Pro). The caregiver needs an iPhone with PillTap and accepts the invitation you send. They see medications and doses as they're logged, and can get an alert when a dose is late. They can't change anything. To stop, go back to the same page.

I bought PillTap Pro. How do I get it on another iPhone?

Go to Settings → Restore Purchase, signed in to the same Apple Account. Family members in your Apple Family Sharing group get Pro too.

How do I delete my data?

Delete doses in History and medications in the Medications tab, or delete the PillTap app to remove everything from your iPhone. If you turned on iCloud sync, turn it off in Settings → iCloud & Backup and choose Delete from iCloud. We never receive your data, so there is nothing for us to delete.
